Spring Fashion

By Sarah Flowers

With the weather warming up, it’s quickly becoming time to throw your riding boots and jackets into the back of the closet and gear up for a colorful spring. While the classic bright colors remain the same, some new trends have surfaced on the 2013 runways. Coral and mint remain popular colors this spring, but richer blues, reds, and greens are also going to be prevalent with solid white maintaining its reputation as a spring classic.

Possibly one of the more interesting new trends is the black and white patterns that have been surfacing in the fashion industry. From houndstooth button downs to checkerboard pants, the black and white trend is sweeping not only the high fashion boutiques but also popular teenage stores like Forever 21.

Along with black and white, patterns inspired by Eastern Europe, India, and Asia, featuring bright cherry blossoms and intricate beading, are going to be seen in stores across the nation. Lace and leather will also continue to be favored textures.

For those who love the look of 5 inch heels but hate the pain that comes with them, you’re in luck! This spring shorter heels with pointed toes and flat gladiator sandals are looking to be in style, which will save your feet from some serious pain.

In the way of accessories, you can expect to see a lot of clear bags, fringe necklaces, large totes, and bright, vintage-inspired sunglasses.
